“Oh, it’s hot… “ I thought to myself. My back felt wet with sweat, but I didn’t have the energy to get up and take off my sweater. The next minute I was back into deep sleep… until the glow of dawn pierced through the curtain.
“Oh, it’s morning… “ I thought to myself again. Suddenly, “… sunrise! Sunrise!” I jumped out of bed.
Yesterday I had already checked my compass. View to the East was clear and promising for a sunrise shot. I must not miss this. I took a glass of plain water which is my routine every morning, and then snatched for my jacket and camera.
The moment I turned my room door handle open, two things greeted me. One was the cold air and the other was a wavy buzzing sound. My room in Kemal’s Guesthouse didn’t seem to be equipped with an air-conditioning. But surprisingly the hot-cold difference inside and outside the room was striking. I assume it must be due the material used for building the walls in this area, because I felt the same inside the bus station’s office.
Right from the balcony in front of my room I saw balloons in dozens of color. Having never seen air-balloon-carriers for real, I was astonished by the wavy buzzing sound. Wow…
In a hurriedly I rushed to climb the rooftop. Admiration for air balloons can wait. Thanks to the flat rooftops. I climbed, and climbed again, until there was nothing more higher than me.
Here we are!
I wonder how does it feel high, high, in the air up there, because on the rooftop here the edge of my fingers are getting numb. Or maybe the glowing fire above their heads on the contrary make them feel warm?
